# 3 Book Publishing Options

Book publishing is increasingly accessible, with many amateur authors able to earn an extra income from this. However, you don’t have to always go down the traditional route. There are actually three main publishing methods. Read on to find out what they are.

- Notes: Many fiction books like 50 Shades of Gray were originally self-published and then went on to become best sellers and are even sometimes made into a movie. If you have a book that you’re confident will sell, then why not skip pitching to publishers and just do it yourself?

- Notes: Alternatively, you could try releasing your work as an eBook. This is far less costly and you can focus on digital marketing to get your work out to as many people as possible. With no printing or mailing costs, you could earn a better income this way.
