The King

The King

The King, a well-meaning yet hasty monarch of a distant kingdom, is a minor character in Cinderella. As his son grew older, the king began feeling the effects of his son's independence. His loneliness had grown and, with it, a deep desire for a family of his own, complete with grandchildren.

Thus, in order to encourage his son to marry and provide him with the family he desired, he orchestrated a royal ball in the hopes that one of the eligible maidens in attendance would be able to capture the Prince's heart. The King anxiously awaited the outcome of his efforts, as it would either grant him the family he had been yearning for or leave him with the same sense of loneliness he had started with.
