In Disney's 1989 animated film, The Little Mermaid, Prince Eric takes on a secondary lead role. He is a youthful and handsome prince of a coastal kingdom who has a love for sailing. During a journey, he nearly drowns in a storm but is saved by a mysterious young woman. Overwhelmed by her bravery and captivated by her lovely voice, Eric immediately falls in love with her and sets out to locate and marry her.

In Disney's 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast and its sequels, Beast takes on the role of the male lead. Born as a prince, he was cursed by a powerful Enchantress for his cruelty and selfish behavior. To break the spell and free himself and others impacted by it, Beast must find someone to love him and reciprocate that love before it's too late.

Aladdin, also referred to as Prince Ali Ababwa, is the central character of the Aladdin franchise, including the films, sequels, and TV series. He is the romantic partner and later spouse of Princess Jasmine. He has black hair and a pet monkey named Abu, and he is also the owner of a flying rug, which is often referred to as Carpet or Rug Man. He is friends with a retired genie and Jafar's former parrot, Iago. Aladdin is the only prince who serves as the protagonist of his own film and is more prominent than his love interest, Princess Jasmine. Additionally, he is the first prince in Disney animation that isn't of royal birth.

John Smith is the secondary lead in the film Pocahontas. He is the romantic interest of the titular character, Pocahontas. He has blonde hair and initially prioritizes land over gold until he meets Pocahontas and his priorities change. After being shot by Ratcliffe, John is forced to return to England for medical attention. He is unique among the Disney princes in that he is not a true prince and is based on a real historical figure.

Li Shang is the secondary character in the films Mulan and Mulan II. Initially, his role in the story is unclear, but he becomes the son of General Li and is promoted to the rank of Captain in Mulan. Throughout the films, Li Shang starts out as a slight antagonist, but eventually becomes the love interest, fiancé, and husband of Mulan. He has black hair.

Naveen is the Prince of Maldonia and a secondary character in the film The Princess and the Frog. At first, he is a nuisance to Tiana, but as they spend more time together as frogs, he transforms into her love interest and eventually her husband. Prior to his transformation, Naveen is portrayed as being slightly spoilt and bratty.

Eugene Fitzherbert is the secondary character in the film Tangled and the love interest and later husband of Rapunzel. He had a tumultuous upbringing, starting as an orphan and becoming a thief, before finally discovering his true identity as a prince. He adopted the name Flynn Rider, inspired by a favorite childhood book character. In the TV series Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, it is revealed that Eugene was born a prince of the Dark Kingdom and his birth name is Horace.

Kristoff is a key character in both "Frozen" and "Frozen II". He is a rugged outdoorsman of Sami descent, who harvests ice with his trusty reindeer, Sven. As a young orphan raised by a group of trolls, Kristoff initially had a negative view of humans, but that changed when he met Princess Anna, who showed him that people can be kind and trustworthy.

Taran is a youthful and imaginative adolescent who starts by tending to the livestock on Dallben the wizard's farm. In an effort to rescue his pig Hen Wen, he stumbles upon the castle of the Horned King accompanied by a peculiar creature named Gurgi. There, he befriends the charming princess Eilonwy and the musical bard Fflewddur Fflam, and together they conquer the evil Horned King. Hercules is the titular protagonist of Disney's 1997 animated film "Hercules". He is the son of Zeus and Hera and is considered a god in Greek mythology. He is born with superhuman strength, which is a result of his godly heritage. In the movie, he is depicted as a young, energetic and somewhat bumbling hero who is eager to prove himself and prove that he is worthy of being recognized as a true hero.

He is a fictional character who was raised by gorillas in the African jungle after being separated from his human family as a baby. Tarzan is depicted as a muscular, athletic, and charismatic individual who is highly skilled in navigating the jungle.

He is a linguist and cartographer who is passionate about finding the lost city of Atlantis. Despite being dismissed by his peers and superiors, he sets out on a dangerous journey to the depths of the ocean to find the city and its secrets. Throughout his adventure, Milo proves to be a brave and determined hero, who is willing to risk his own life for the sake of knowledge and discovery.

Robin Hood is depicted as being charismatic and heroic, with a strong sense of justice and a desire to help the poor. He is also depicted as being skilled in archery and an expert in the use of the sword.

Simba is the main character in "The Lion King," a significant character in "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride," and a supporting character in "The Lion King 1 1/2." He and Nala were close friends as cubs and their friendship grew into a romantic relationship and eventually a mate bond. He is the father of Kiara and is not considered an official Disney prince because he is an animal.

Kovu is the male lead in "The Lion King II." He is romantically involved with and the mate of Kiara, who is Simba's daughter. He bears a resemblance to Scar (although they are not related).
