I'm a happily self guided traveller, never book tours, but I really wanted to get inside this amazing building, and a tour is the only way. LOVED our tour guide Bruce - he was great, interesting, funny and we all had a great time. The interior of the opera house was just spectacular and we also got to hear the Sydney Symphony Orchestra rehearsing, which just left us with goosebumps. The staff in ticketing were extremely helpful and the whole tour experience was flawless. Don't hesitate! Being directly on the Sydney Harbour of course adds to the experience. You can get here two ways. Either drive or take the hydrofoil which is a pleasant boat ride and I would suggest it to anyone who visits. Unlike many places here in the states Australians are extremely friendly and helpful. If you ever need directions they will always steer you the right way (no pun intended). \\n\\nSydney is beautiful with so much to offer. The acoustics of the Opera House makes it so regardless of wherever you're sitting it will sound like you're sitting in the front row directly in front of the entertainers so no worries of not being able to hear the concert as you always will.
