A combination of old and new Mauritian cuisine, this place comes highly recommended. The other great thing is they serve vegan food too. The food is well worth the wait. The flavours that one tastes are exceptional and the calamari is cooked to perfection. So delicious!
I'm an avid traveler, water sports lover, drone flyer and filmmaker, and Mauritius offers some of the most picturesque landscapes for storytelling. Follow my family and I on Adventures in and around this paradise Island and around the world.
In this list, I share some of my favorite things to do and see in Mauritius.

You'll find large expansive lagoons and sections of mangroves making it a nature lover's dream. It's really beautiful!
It's this forresty area, mangroves right into the lagoon, beautiful blue water.
It's one of the longest beaches in Mauritius and is also now the second most popular place on the island. It's a great place for a long walk.
Quite good snorkeling here, but strong currents. And I love this part of the coast because it's wild and rugged and really undeveloped.
There are these big volcanic rocks behind me against this white sand beach. The black and white contrast is simply magnificent. But beware, swimming is absolutely prohibited. As the currents are very, very strong here.
It's a really nice beach to swim in because it gets deep quite quickly and the waters are beautifully clear. It's also slightly sandy, of course there's coral, but it's okay on the feet, just be careful of the current. You can also walk all the way along the beach. It's a good place for snorkelling too.
It's protected from the reef. It's got a massive lagoon area, beautiful blue water, white sandy beach, few little boats here and there, it is just a lovely place to come and chill out.
I think it's the most spectacular beach on the island, the most beautiful beach. It's a popular weekend getaway. You can snorkel there.
There's a bunch of them on the beach. They're such a different species that caught our attention.
There's black volcanic rock on the beach and you've got the waves breaking just behind. I absolutely love the raw rough ocean unleashing its power on the ancient rocks. And the sunrise here is just beautiful and breathtaking.
There are a lot of these huge trees in Mauritius, you should check out, they're pretty impressive. From Poste Lafayette public beach, head south along the main road, past this massive Banyan tree.
You'll go through this wonderful forest and the views are great.

Named after these wonderful filao trees. Here the menu consists of many delights such as fish curry, grilled chicken, prawns tuna and hamburgers. The dish we usually go for is the fish curry and it is so well priced. The location is superb, it is right on the beach. In fact, you can sit under these trees and eat your lunch in the white sand.
Marilyn Monroe is Mauritian cuisine, so come here expecting lots of noodles, curries and rice dishes. This place is great, and it's really cheap.
It's a little village, with a great restaurant, which serves fabulous food. There's also a surf shop. You can stay here overnight and there's also a gift shop. It's lovely because it's really secluded, you're protected from the weather and it's in a lush, beautiful garden. If you're looking for eggs benedict, this is probably the best place on the island for a breakfast. Also, a very good choice for vegans because they have a big selection on their menu.
The food is fantastic, authentic Chinese food with a little bit of Mauritian feel, vibe going on as well. But highly worth it. And very fast. It gets really busy at night.
It is a lovely restaurant with a fantastic vibe. You can either sit indoors or outdoors and they have this whole outdoor area with big umbrellas, and it's particularly nice for breakfast.
This restaurant is famous for its lobster curry and its chicken dishes.
It's certainly a beautiful place to come for a hike, a run, for cycling and to just generally observe nature. Lots of lovely trees, Eucalyptus, Filao, Ebony.
It's a pretty popular and fun activity here at this beach.
It's one of my favorite spots for snorkeling just because of the fact that the reef is so close to the shore you can literally walk straight into the sea from the beach and you'll see fish immediately so that makes it a great place to come with kids.
This beach is often used for events like triathlons because of this amazing track, which extends for quite a few kilometers along the coast.
It gives you a view from above when you're looking down into the water and often you can see the fish like that and it's a really calm and relaxing way to well make up some time during the day.
It's a great way to chill out and this beach is safe for children too. But be careful with the reefs, you can fall from your board and injure yourself.
Check out this tower that is similar to Martello Tower.
This is part of the tea tour and it's well worth pulling up in here because that building is absolutely stunning.
In the car park you'll find the Martello tower museum. This tower was built while the island was a British colony and it was used for protection. It's open daily.
So these market are really great to visit because you can get whole wide range of products. Ranging from clothes, food, jewelry, cell phone covers, you name it, but my main point of interest is the street food.
If you want to experience true island authentic food along with a few craft markets, you should check it out.
