The experience of paying flights, accommodation and an entrance ticket and being refused entrance two nights in a row by some inarticulate person is horrendous. And, yes, there was no reason for my friends to be refused entry, nor was there any follow up from the local authorities or the organizers on this situation. Basically, going to this festival is like gambling your money away: you never know who cancels or if you actually get in. You won’t get your money back, either way. It's a well organised event that is well marked and marshalled. The run had it all: varying terrain (tarmac, trails, beach), sea breezes, shade (and sun) helpful marshals, friendly locals and fantastic views. It's a tough old event, but really enjoyable. Really disappointed though with the camping set up compared to other festivals. This is down to the woeful lack of cooking stations. At lunchtime, the queues are horrendous. We are seasoned campers at festivals and there is no issue to cook at your tent and boil a kettle. \\nThe shower and toilet facilities are excellent. \\nServing amount of beer in cheap half pint plastic disposable cups is ridiculous. Not great for the environment. Why not follow the lead on other festivals and\\nPay a surcharge for the cups. It reduces waste and is a great souvenir. On day 2, we did take our plastic pint cups which we got from Download. So many festival goers commented on our cups and said what a good idea to bring them into the arena rather than have your drinks served into two plastic half pints. \\nFinally, there is not a lot to see In-between the acts.
