- Notes: "The Death of an Outsider" is part of the Hamish Macbeth series, which I believe was written in the 80s. There are numerous books in this series, possibly over 30. Each book follows the pattern of starting with "Death of..." and in this case, it's "The Death of an Outsider." This is the first book I've read in the Hamish Macbeth series, and it stood out to me due to its short length and large font, making it an enjoyable and easy read.
