Warm yourself around a campfire
It is important to make sure it is permitted where you plan to start a campfire*
- Stones to build the bulk of the barrier
- Water source nearby for safety
- Logs and large branches for long lasting fire (use dry and clean logs; avoid rotting, mossy or wet)
- softwood for less long lasting fire (use pines, firs, trees with needles)
- Gather kindling (twigs, leaves and bark)
- Flammable material (thin bark, dry leaves, etc.)
- Fire source of your choice (matches or lighter)
- Shovel to put out the fire
