And the player with an eye for aesthetics will love the helmet’s new sleek and slightly sculpted look, with eye-catching front-to-back venting that provides superior airflow. The helmet’s interior is where Bauer focused most of its attention on upgrades, giving the Re-Akt 200 a host of new features. The Re-Akt 200 liner now includes Bauer’s Fit Plate technology, the same technology as Bauer uses in its premium Speed Plate footbed. When baked, the Fit Plate provides a custom occipital lock at the back of the helmet for a near-perfect fit. The new Re-Akt 200 also includes additional adjustment pieces designed to eliminate any protection gaps at either temple, whether the helmet is expanded or contracted. The liner features a base layer of VN foam, a high-density material with a layer of dual-density foam on top of that. The helmet also includes moisture channels that will help direct sweat away from the player’s eyes. Finally, the Re-Akt 200 comes with Poron Xrd pads—the most protective foam Bauer uses. The Suspend-Tech liner has also been updated. The Next Gen Suspend-Tech is mounted in multiple locations, helping manage the energy of both linear and rotational impacts. The base liner is an updated version of Bauer’s VTX material—similar to EPP foam but more lightweight and protective. It’s no surprise, or it shouldn’t be, that top companies are paying attention to the all the concern about concussions and head-related injuries. It makes sense that Bauer would seek to invest time and energy into its helmets. And lucky for the players—the Re-Akt 200 offers a high-tech array of padding and fit adjustments designed to provide the best protection a player can get.

The Alpha One design weaves together all shell and liner compositions. A player’s frontal lobe, temples, and occipital areas are typical locations for focused, high impacts. The Alpha One protects all these areas of the head with a lightweight Viconic diffusion plate inside the helmet. The Viconic plate design allows the helmet to absorb single or simultaneous head-on, side, and rear impacts. The Viconic diffusion plate effectively distributes impact and collision force, helping to reduce their intensity. In addition to the Alpha One’s one-piece design, rigid plastic, and diffusion plate, Warrior includes additional impact protection with its EPP foam. The foam, a key safety feature in the Alpha One, creates a lightweight, protective barrier against catastrophic injury. Additionally, the Warrior’s Impax soft-touch foam shield and Viconic pods are specially designed for impacts of various intensities. Altogether, this OmniShock+ system helmet represents one of the most technologically advanced helmets available. All this protection technology will perform as it’s intended as long as the helmet fits correctly. Players will be sure to appreciate Warrior’s superior helmet design and the aesthetic appeal of the 2018 Alpha One.

The CCM FitLite 3DS youth ice hockey helmet combo is the perfect helmet for the young hockey phenom aged 4 to 7 years. The pro specs and variety of youth-specific adjustments mean parents will be able to create the perfect-fitting helmet for their young star. And since some of the adjustments are small sized, young skaters can also learn to take responsibility for making sure their gear fits to their liking (with parental supervision.)
- Tool-less adjustment system for easy-to-use fit personalization
- Youth-specific cage adjustments for growing kids
- Clip strap for easier use than traditional snap
- Multi-density interior foams for protection and comfort
- Rear-located D3O foam for superior back-of-the-head protection
- CCM youth cage for excellent protection, adjustability, and on-ice vision
- Quick-release cage straps with velcro adjustments for on-the-fly fit accuracy
Just like the adult version used in the NHL, the 3DS youth helmet features a two-piece shell construction with a tool-less fit-adjustment system. The dual side locks release for a personalized front-to-back fit. The cage also boasts two youth-specific adjustments that change how it fits to the helmet. This is useful, of course, because as kids grow, so do their faces. The 3DS youth combo adapts to that growth. Simply slide the center top lock to adjust the cage height, and further customize the fit with the J-clip adjustments on either side of the helmet. The helmet strap also employs a youth-specific adjustment feature. Instead of the traditional snaps, the straps adjust with a velcro system on either side, for a snug-fitting chin cup. And the helmet strap features a clip lock rather than a snap—easier for both parents and the child to use but as safe and secure as the traditional snap it replaces. All these adjustment features give parents a lot of control over how the helmet protects their child both now and as the child grows. The 3DS liner is built specifically for youth players. Parents will find thick EVA foams throughout the whole interior. The EVA is dual density, with the yellow base foam being the denser of the two. The top layer is also thick, but it’s softer and designed for comfort. The 3DS also features CCM’s D3O Smart Foam technology. D3O foam is one of the most protective materials CCM uses in any of its protection equipment—including the adult 3DS helmet. D3O foam is rate sensitive, meaning its stiffness increases with the intensity of an impact. With the D3O foam’s rear positioning, this youth-specific helmet is perfect for young players still prone to falling backward and smacking the back of their head on the ice. Parents can feel better knowing their kid’s helmet provides premium back-of-the-head protection. The cage on the FitLite 3DS youth combo helmet is a CCM youth facemask that features youth-specific quick-release straps with velcro adjustments for on-the-fly fit accuracy. These straps are much easier to manage than traditional straps—they require less strength to manipulate and are sized for small hands. The CCM FitLite 3DS youth helmet combo prioritizes safety with its thoughtfully placed D3O foam, but it also accommodates flexibility and growth, thanks to the many standard fit adjustments on the helmet. It helps young players begin to take ownership of their own gear, with its easy-to-adjust features. It doesn’t hurt that it looks cool, too. A helmet is one piece of equipment a parent should feel good spending money on, and they will when they invest in the FitLite 3DS youth combo helmet.

- Dual density foam padding for a traditional feel
- Dual ridge crown for increased protection and comfort
- Quick tool adjustment for a personalized fit
- Ergo translucent ear covers for added protection
Bauer’s 4500 model features dual density foam padding, creating a traditional fit inside the helmet. Many players enjoy this style of padding that Bauer has used for years, giving them the snug, classic fit they are looking for. The 4500 uses a dual density liner, found between the helmet’s shell and the thick layer of foam padding, adding extra resistance to head impact.
The dual ridge crown highlights the helmet’s construction, providing increased protection and comfort. On the outside of the 4500, the two-piece shell provides venting areas on the front, sides, and back, giving the helmet a sleek look while keeping your head cool during those fast-paced games. And the Ergo translucent ear covers provide a little extra protection for an area that helmet structures neglect.
The two-piece model also gives you the option to personalize the fit of the helmet. The quick tool adjustment feature allows you to easily unscrew the shell and expand or contract the helmet to give you the right fit for your head size.
The hockey helmet is arguably the most important piece of equipment in terms of safety. Experts state that concussions are mainly due to acceleration or deceleration of the brain. While helmets may not prevent concussions caused by these forces, they are crucial to limiting injuries of all kinds on the ice. The Bauer 4500 provides any level of player with a well-known fit and feel, and an iconic style recognized throughout the hockey world.

- Sleek low profile look with geometry that helps absorb impacts

The Warrior Covert line of helmets debuts with the PX+ helmet, bringing with it many of the technologies and features seen in its predecessor, the Krown PX3. Warrior built this helmet to give players the best in class protection with the usage of premium multi-layered impact absorption foams.
These foams include a thicker VN type of comfort foam popular among pro players for its soft padding. Underneath that, this helmet is lined with a black EPP foam liner; this is a light weight foam made to manage multiple impacts. A great feature of the EPP foam is that it will visibly crack when the helmet has sustained a very hard and substantial impact, once this happens, the player knows it's time to get a new helmet that offers maximum protection, no need to guess on the lifespan of a helmet.
If you are a fan of the PX3 helmet, the PX+ is a perfect upgrade offering a similar fit and protection, the main difference between the two is going to come in the increased thickness of the VN foam lining the inside of the helmet, the other is the overall shell design as well. Warrior kept the same streamlined shape but removed the 4-Play dial and multi-piece shell design. Instead this shell is just a simple 2-piece design that uses clips on both sides of the helmet above the ear pieces for a tool-less adjustability.
Lastly, the shell is made with high density PE for lightweight and professional protection. To manage temperature, the shell features large vents on the front, sides and back of the helmet to help keep the player cool down during play. And let's put those worries to rest, the PX+ EASILY passes the mirror test!
If you are in the market for a new bucket, we recommend checking out the Warrior Covert PX+ today!
Designed for best in class protection - the liner is a blend of premium multi-layered impact absorption protection foams
Two unique layers of strategically selected foam offer impact protection against all types of contact from high to low forces
A newly developed shell focused on fit, lightweight comfort and easy tooless adjustment

Lightweight protection is all in the name, and CCM’s Fitlite line has provided the perfect combination of lightweight and key protection since its inception. New for 2018, the CCM FL90 uses a combination of protective foams with an adjustable fit. CCM’s new addition offers pro level protection with a lightweight feel and price.
Protection starts with the fit and the CCM FL90 Hockey Helmet offers options to help customize and create the proper one. The FL90 will have a traditional oval design that is familiar to many players and can be adjusted using the tabs located on the side of the shell. For the FL90, CCM included the microdial adjustment system which allows the back of the helmet to be adjusted to fit better on the back of the head and top of the neck. Adding extra adjustment pieces lets players get a custom and proper fit to provide pro level protection.
Internally, the CCM FL90 Hockey Helmet uses a combination of cushioning and protective foams to absorb and disperse impacts during gameplay. CCM uses their Hexagon Matrix designed in combination with multi density foams as the base of their liner. The hexagonal foam is designed to absorb the initial impact, while the thicker multi density foam provides secondary impact absorption.
Rounding through the major areas of contact on the side and back of the head, the FL90 features I.Q.Shion memory foam with strategic D30 inserts to provide ultimate comfort and a fine tuned fit. The memory foam conforms and cushions the players head to ensure a comfortable fit while reducing movement in the helmet. On top of the fit and performance, the memory foam will also help wick away moisture to help keep players dry during play. The FL90 will also feature CCM’s top tiered D30 padding in the temple area of the helmet. This reactive padding tenses up around high impacts to absorb more than traditional foams but is still soft and comfortable while being worn.
All the internal padding is covered by a two-piece high density P.E. shell. This lightweight shell offers pro level durability and weight. The shell will also be vented to allow air to flow smoothly through the helmet keeping players cool and dry during play. Lastly, the FL90 helmet can be customized with separate helmet decals for players who wish to add some color.
Stock, the FL90 Combo will come with the CCM FM680 cage. The gunmetal colored cage is constructed with thin steel alloy bars to provide top tiered protection, durability and visibility. A multi density foam chin cup will help absorb impacts and is also lined to reduce moisture to keep the cup in place.
For all types of players looking for a traditional fitting helmet, all with comfortable and protective materials check out the CCM FL90 Hockey Helmet Combo.

Bauer RE-AKT 75 Combo Hockey Helmet
It's not up for debate. Your helmet is the most important piece of equipment in your hockey bag. As a leader in premier equipment Bauer knows this better than anyone, but they also knew that not everyone could afford an elite level helmet so the Re-AKt 75 was born. Outfitted with a comprehensive package of Bauer's best impact management systems, the 75 is ready to manage impacts of all types, directions, and velocities. The majority of the shell is lined with multi-density impact management foam. This is important because not all hits in hockey are bone rattlers, but they all send shock waves through your head and cause impacts inside the skull. Having a foam capable of compressing under a variety of impact speeds is essential. Bauer has also included their Poron XRD foam in the temples of the helmet to help protect the most sensitive part of your skull from even the most subtle shocks, as their Poron is capable of compressing with very little provocation. Finally, the back of the helmet is loaded with Seven+ Tech which you'll recognize from the IMS 7 and M-11 helmets of the past. Seven+ Tech is composed of plastic cylinders that are capable of absorbing shock and returning to rest much more quickly than conventional foams. The beauty of their presence in the 75 is the location - in the back of the helmet they'll be able to manage the shock of hitting the ice or boards after the initial check much more efficiently than a simple foam counter-part. Finally, Bauer's tool-less two-piece slide adjustment system combines with their new molded occipital support system to provide players with ample latitude to adjust their helmet to achieve that perfect fit.

This helmet fits wider than the Bauer 4500 and offers the same sub-shell as the 9900. The Triple-density padding is similar to that of the 4500 and offers the same feel on the interior. Quick clip adjustments offer easier changes and simple change-to-size to secure a proper fit.

The molded memory foam XRD comfort liner along with low profile ear loops, and tool-less ear covers, allows the helmet to have premium coverage and protection against both high and low energy impacts.
Keeping players cool are the strategically placed moisture channels throughout the helmet. These channels help draw in cool air, keeping the players dry and comfortable throughout usage. These also assist in drying the helmet quicker when not in use.
If you are a player looking for a helmet that excels in protection without sacrificing comfort and performance, look no further than the Bauer Hyperlite Hockey Helmet.
