For flower: 3.5 grams = 1 MMCEU 7 grams = 2 MMCEUs 10.5 grams = 3 MMCEUs For concentrates: 1 gram = 1 MMCEU 2 grams = 2 MMCEUs 0.5 gram = 0.5 MMCEU

For infused products: 100 mg THC = 1 MMCEU 200 mg THC = 2 MMCEUs 50 mg THC = 0.5 MMCEU

Gross package weight and THC content are not interchangeable. A 20-gram package of gummies containing 100 mg of THC equals 1 MMCEU, not 20.

Infused products can create some of the easiest conversion mistakes because their labels may show total package weight, servings, THC per serving, total THC, and CBD content at the same time.

For MMCEU calculations, the correct THC value must be used.

For example, a package containing 10 gummies with 10 mg of THC each contains 100 mg of THC total and therefore equals 1 MMCEU.

For infused products, the POS record should represent the total amount of THC actually being dispensed.

Conversion errors can be harder to notice when several product types appear in the same transaction.

Consider this basket:

• 7 grams of flower = 2 MMCEUs
• 1 gram of concentrate = 1 MMCEU
• 200 mg THC in infused products = 2 MMCEUs

The complete transaction equals 5 MMCEUs.

The patient limit applies to the combined MMCEU value, not separate independent limits for flower, concentrates, and infused products.

Testing mixed baskets before products go live can reveal configuration problems before they affect patient allotments.

Resident cardholders may obtain no more than 24 MMCEUs during a rolling 30-day period from one dispensary or a combination of dispensaries. Mississippi also lists a resident possession limit of 28 MMCEUs.

Since July 1, 2024, resident allotment tracking has used the rolling 30-day limit rather than the previous combined 7-day and 30-day structure.Previous purchases return to the patient's available allotment when they move outside that rolling period

Resident and nonresident patients do not use the same time-based purchase limits.

Current MMCP guidance limits nonresident cardholders to:

• 6 MMCEUs per week
• 12 MMCEUs during a consecutive 15-day period

The underlying MMCEU conversions remain the same, but the purchase periods differ.

The best time to prevent an MMCEU conversion problem is before the product becomes available for sale.

For every new SKU, verify:

• regulatory product category
• flower weight, if applicable
• concentrate weight, if applicable
• total THC for infused products
• package size
• unit of measure
• Metrc item and package mapping
• expected MMCEU value

Do not copy an existing product configuration simply because the brand, flavor, or packaging looks similar.

MMCEUs do not always occur as whole numbers.

For example:

• 1.75 grams of flower = 0.5 MMCEU
• 0.5 gram of concentrate = 0.5 MMCEU
• 50 mg THC in an infused product = 0.5 MMCEU

A compliant checkout workflow needs to preserve these decimal values correctly.

Rounding fractional MMCEUs up or down can create inaccurate allotment usage across repeated transactions.

If a patient appears to have enough allotment but the POS shows an unexpected warning, staff should investigate before overriding it.

Check:

• current patient status
• remaining allotment
• product categories
• product quantities
• total THC values
• previous transactions
• duplicate product records

The warning may indicate a real purchase-limit issue or an incorrect product configuration.

An unexpected purchase-limit alert is a reason to check the data, not automatically bypass the control.
