Check symbols and each relationship
Read every connection from one endpoint to the other and verify that its meaning matches the legend. Arrange generations clearly and make sure similar names are distinguishable. Explain line styles in plain language because conventions differ, and do not rely on color alone. If family members use different terms for a relationship, allow space for those perspectives rather than forcing a definitive label.
