If you plan on using Microsoft Word, I recommend a Windows laptop. MacOS and Windows products aren't fully compatible, so you will run into a lot of issues while you typeset and attempt imposition.
However, this is not to say it is impossible to typeset on a Mac. You can definitely still do that, but you will need to use a different program for imposition, or a different typesetting software entirely.
