Is Five Nights at Freddy's Better Than Modern Horror Games?

The horror genre has changed dramatically over the last decade. Today's games feature realistic graphics, advanced AI, massive environments, and cinematic storytelling. Yet despite all these improvements, many players still return to Five Nights at Freddy's. That raises an interesting question: is Fnaf actually better than many modern horror games?

As someone who regularly plays both classic and contemporary horror titles, I've asked myself this several times. On paper, newer games should have the advantage. They have larger budgets and more sophisticated technology. However, horror isn't always about technology. Sometimes it's about how a game makes you feel.

Even in 2026, Fnaf continues to create emotions that many modern horror games struggle to replicate.
