To clean the tool on the end of the cleaning and maitanance process.
Give the tool a good spray and wipe it down on a rag. If you're working in a lot of trees, you can spray it on your blades when you're jumping from one tree to another, it'll prevent a collective "disease", because if one tree has a fungal infection, the next one can catch it too.
