Communications interns assist our communications team to develop timely, interesting content for our website, newsletter, and other media platforms that is relevant to the various communities and stakeholder groups we strive to connect with. Part of this work requires a deep understanding of the relevance of environmental issues to communities that may not identify with “environmental groups.” This is a great opportunity for students interested in the nexus between energy/environment and social justice to work with state policy experts and organizers on key issues facing Texas, while expanding their communications capacities. Interns would be expected to work at least 20 hours per week from our Austin office. Additional hours and longer-term internships are strongly encouraged. If you are interested in a longer-term internship, please note it in your cover letter. This internship is unpaid, but includes opportunities to attend events and participate in several program trainings at no cost. The Sierra Club will also reimburse any internship-related travel costs.
