Probably my favorite beach in Hong Kong.
Before you plan your trip here, check out the linked blog on Ham Tin! Check the WEATHER and boat availability!!!!
There's a little hole in the wall restaurant located at Ham Tin with its whole purpose is to feed your famished body and revitalize you exhausted mind after a few hours hiking! Plus, if you're not feeling up to hiking all the way back, most decide to take the boat back to the Sai King Pier/civilization.
It'll cost you $150HKD per person (ONE WAY) for a boat ticket. Best around sunset BUTTTT they are only available during GOOD safe weather. There have been a couple of traumatizing times where boats were canceled and my friends and I had no choice but to hike our sorry little behinds aaaaaaaall the way back to civilization with daylight running out.
So PLAN AHEAD! Bring CASH and only go if good weather calls and you have the choice to take the boat home from Ham Tin. It's always worth it!
p.s hold on tight during that boat ride…especially during the BIG waves! exhilarating but sometimes borderline scary depending on how ballsy the boat driver feels :)
A personal list of places in Hong Kong I recommend all my family and friends to check out if it's their first time in my hometown! Whether it's only just one day or a week, pick and choose which places pique your interests and go for it. Happy exploring! Also, check out my next list, Places to EAT in Hong Kong, coming soon. Enjoy!
